How to uninstall the PaperCut User Client on MacOS

This video shows you how to uninstall the local installation of the PaperCut NG/MF User Client software on the MacOS platform.

Especially relevant to people who have left their workplace or school, you could be seeing a message “unable to connect to server…” or “The application cannot closed, because it is required to perform printing on this network” or “Your login credentials are required for printer access”. If you are seeing one of these messages, this, this video is perfect for you.

The sys admins and students have been calling it many names over the years. The PaperCut balance window, balance box, PaperCut popup (we’re fond of that one), PaperCut client and sometimes more vulgar terms if their balance is low. We call it the PaperCut user client tool. It’s an optional software component that runs on users’ workstations. If your organisation or school and still need to remove the PaperCut balance window box (or whatever you want to call it), this video will help you if you’re using MacOS.

  1. PaperCut is such a garbage piece of software. It won't delete from my Mac and it keeps popping up a popup that it can't connect to the server. Obviously it can't connect to the server when I'm not in the office.
